Mentoring helps your team track an ongoing supportive relationship — who is mentoring whom, notes over time, and how that support connects to the rest of CoolFocus.
1. Open the Serve module (people icon in the left navigation).
2. In the Serve menu, choose Mentoring (same area as Volunteers, Staff, Time Sheets, and Positions).
Mentoring lives under Serve, not under Outreach. If you used Outreach → Mentoring before, use Serve → Mentoring now. It is still available for Love INC and other organizations that have Outreach on their plan. Pregnancy centers without Outreach do not see Mentoring.
On a Volunteer or Staff person record, you may also see a Mentoring related tab for sessions tied to that person.
Use mentoring when support continues over time and your organization wants to understand the relationship, history, or progress.
The Mentor field on a mentoring record uses a combined picker that searches both your Staff list and your Volunteers list, so either a paid staff member or a community volunteer can be logged as the mentor.
Mentoring may connect to clients, the staff member or volunteer serving as mentor, programs, Love INC workflows, or time sheet history.
Keep mentoring notes respectful, clear, and useful for the next person who may need context.
