Extra detail for pregnancy-center teams who use Center Overview and Center Statistics. Start with the main definitions article if you need the basics; use this page when a specific number still looks surprising.
Set your date range (and center filter, if you use one) before you compare totals. Almost every mismatch starts there.
• Offsite pregnancy tests
• Center Statistics includes them automatically.
• Center Overview includes them only when Include Offsite Tests is checked.
• Pregnancy tests — which date counts
• Center Statistics counts by the test date on the pregnancy test record.
• Center Overview counts by the visit date when the test was performed.
• Drill-down
• Center Overview — blue underlined numbers open the list of clients behind the total.
• Center Statistics — shorter board/donor summary; it is not meant for the same client-by-client drill-down.
Because of the test-date vs visit-date difference, a client can show in Distinct Clients for the period while pregnancy tests look lower on Center Statistics — her visit fell inside the range, but her test date fell outside it.
The Positive Test area pairs:
1. Initial assessment (for example Abortion-Minded, Abortion-Vulnerable, Likely To Carry)
2. Now: with the current intention
Example: Abortion-Vulnerable Now: Miscarried means she was assessed abortion-vulnerable, and her current intention is miscarriage (a final outcome).
The line At-Risk Clients who VISITED during this time frame, and have recorded a POSITIVE test counts clients who:
• Had a visit in your date range, and
• Had a positive test at some point (not necessarily during that same range)
Use it to answer: “Whom did we serve who is pregnant and at risk?” even when the positive test was earlier.
On Center Statistics, in the ultrasound block:
• Changed Minds counts distinct clients whose stated intentions were Abortion or Undecided before the ultrasound, and Parent or Adopt after. It does not include every at-risk client. Clients who were already life-minded before the ultrasound are left out. Counseling or other factors may explain a change — the number is not “ultrasound only.”
• At-Risk Clients (ultrasound) counts ultrasounds for cases initially assessed Abortion-Minded or Abortion-Vulnerable.
For how this relates to At-Risk Clients Carrying on Center Overview, see Why Your Center Report Numbers Differ.
• Unknown — nothing is selected for current intention.
• N/A — N/A was deliberately chosen.
These are different answers. They are not interchangeable in the totals.
Care Net deduplicates visits for the same client and case across the range you run.
Example: January may show 1 client and February may show 1 client, but January–February together can still show 1 distinct client served.
Do not sum monthly Care Net exports and expect that sum to match a full-year Care Net run.
The count comes from a Resource Provided named Prenatal Vitamins on the visit (add the option if needed, then select it on the visit). The same source feeds Center Overview and Care Net.
To add the option to the list, see Managing Dropdown List Values.
• Record material assistance as a Benefit under Programs and Benefits on the visit.
• Set up Visit Reasons (for example Material Assistance) in your dropdown lists so visits categorize correctly for reporting.
