CoolFocus brings a client's points activity from every source together into a single, read-only Points Activity feed, plus one overall points balance. Before this, a client's legacy benefits, BrightCourse points, and native points activity were three separate numbers with no combined total.
Points Activity pulls together:
Native points activity: checkouts, reversals, and ad-hoc awards recorded directly in CoolFocus.
Legacy benefits received: classes, material assistance, and other benefit-type records carried over from earlier versions of the system (including CoolFocus 3 history).
BrightCourse points: point entries imported from the BrightCourse integration. See BrightCourse points and learning data.
Each entry in the feed shows the date it was posted, which source it came from, whether it was an award or a checkout, the number of points, a dollar value when one applies, and a description.
Alongside the activity feed, CoolFocus calculates a client's overall points balance across all three sources:
Current points balance: the client's net points right now.
Lifetime earned: total points awarded over time.
Lifetime spent: total points spent over time.
A breakdown of the balance by source: legacy benefit points, BrightCourse points, and shop points (native CoolFocus points activity).
This is a global (cross-center) number. It is separate from any existing per-center Points & Inventory balance your organization may already use for shop checkouts.
Points Activity is read-only in CoolFocus. You cannot add, edit, delete, or import records directly into this feed. To change a client's points:
Record an award, checkout, or reversal through your normal Points & Inventory workflow.
Update the source benefit record for legacy benefits received.
Correct the entry in BrightCourse for BrightCourse points, then wait for the next scheduled sync.
Points Activity is available wherever CoolFocus lets you report on or filter client data (for example, when building a segment or a saved report), so you can look up a client's points activity or overall balance without adding up the individual sources by hand.
